Adventures in East Sussex
This isn't the Alps, but Motts Mill in East Sussex, one of the best tobogganing slopes around. You need a spirit of adventure to jump on your sledge here, as it's a steep hill with a stream and barbed wire fence at the bottom. This photo makes me smile, seeing my Labrador in hot pursuit, she never tires of chasing sledges downhill. You also need a spirit of adventure driving along our icy narrow country lanes, which are fine if you take it really slowly and don't meet anyone coming the other way.
For this week's Gallery over at Sticky Fingers, where the theme is adventure. I wrote about another family adventure for Sticky Fingers last year (you can read it here).

ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteFabulous Photo - looks very cold but exhilarating!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was both!
DeleteI hope the stream comes before the barbed wire! Fantastic picture.
ReplyDeleteThank you! The stream is just behind the fence, but it becomes quite boggy down the bottom, so there's a natural slow down.
DeleteWow - definatley looks more Alps than East Sussex!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun while it lasts.
DeleteWhat a great photo, is there a braking tactic then for the bottom to avoid the perils of the fence?!
ReplyDeleteIt's quite boggy down the bottom, so the sledge naturally brakes. However, if it's icy, you just have to throw yourself off.
DeleteWhat an amazing shot! You must have been on a collision course !
ReplyDeleteI had to move out of the way pretty quickly!
DeleteGreat action picture. On first glance I thought it was a bear behind until I read the text!! Looks like lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteBears in East Sussex? Yes, it's always great fun.
