A New Day Dawns

I've started the New Year with a horrible cough.  It sounds as if I've been smoking 60 a day for the last forty years!  What will 2013 bring?  My youngest went back to school for a few days, then tonsillitis took hold. It's been a wobbly start after a wonderful family Christmas together.  Today I'm clearing out my office and tackling my tax return - it's a new year ritual.

This is a picture of the frosty lane I live on with the hedges all neatly clipped, a far cry from the overgrown green hedgerows of the summer months. I'm hooking up to The Gallery at Sticky Fingers, where the theme is new.

  1. I'm already studying the hedgerows for signs of buds.
Vague hopes yet in all their whiteness. Poor sheep are the only life as they hide from the cold in them. Hope you all pick up soon. X

  3. Wow, I love that photo! It's like you can feel the cold just from looking at it.
Urrgh to tax returns. I've done mine now got hubby's to do. I vow to do it in April this year to get it over and done with!

    1. You are good. I have to to my husband's too. I plan to do them earlier every year, but other stuff always seems to get in the way.

  4. My son had tonsillitis and missed his first two days back at school too (Sixth form).

Your photo looks a little like the view from my window today - very cold and frosty down this east coast!

    1. Yes, you don't want them missing too many days at school and getting behind with work. It's been a chilly week, but I prefer it to the rain.
